Brooke USA Celebrates National Nonprofit Day Today
~August 17 Honors Nonprofits and the Valuable Services They Provide~
Lexington, Ky. (Aug. 17, 2022) — Today, on National Nonprofit Day, Brooke USA Foundation (Brooke USA) joins other organizations to call attention to the vast positive impact nonprofits have on the communities they serve. Charitable organizations throughout the country work every day to help those in need – human and animal - often with limited help and little recognition. Nonprofits provide critical services and champion some of the most difficult issues across the globe.
“National Nonprofit Day is a reminder of the important work mission-driven organizations do and the specific challenges we face today. The pandemic impacted all organizations and exacerbated existing issues concerning many of us. We are now trying to maintain our mission goals amid increased demand and reduced resources”, said Emily Dulin, Chief Executive Officer of Brooke USA.
During National Nonprofit Day, it is also important to recognize supporters – volunteers and donors – who allow charitable organizations to implement programs that help those in need. Brooke USA depends on those very special individuals who give their time, talent, and treasure to alleviate the suffering of working equines and the people who depend on them for survival. “They are the heart and soul of any nonprofit,” said Kendall Bierer, Donor Relations Officer at Brooke USA.
Brooke USA also partners with other nonprofit organizations to extend its mission and attain its goals. On National Nonprofit Day, Brooke USA also salutes other charitable groups. Last year alone, Brooke USA worked with over 30 animal organizations in the United States, provided services in 11 countries and helped over 80,000 equines and 90,000 people. “Our partners ensured that we could make a lasting difference both in the United States and abroad,” Bierer added.
Brooke USA supports those who need it most by training and coaching communities on animal husbandry, providing veterinary care, advocating for better legislation and animal protection, and in many other ways. “Every day, working equines and the people they serve across the developing world benefit from the incredible work of nonprofits like ours. Today, drop a line to your favorite nonprofit and let the staff know how much you value their work, or if you are a nonprofit, let your donors, volunteers and friends know how much they mean to you”, Dulin concluded.
